Points to Note

Application Flow

The application flow is described with the help of a video clip


STEP 1 (Criteria Specification Screen)

  • When the necessary details are entered in the search column, the desired tours are displayed


STEP 2 (Tour List Display Screen)

  • Please select the train (seating arrangement) of your choice.
  • Next, please click the "Select" button of the desired tour from the tour list. The tour details (Terms & Conditions Screen/STEP 3) are displayed.


STEP 3 (Screen for Tour Details and Terms & Conditions) * This is equivalent to the pamphlet and travel criteria document.

  • The tour criteria are described here. Please read the contents of the Terms & Conditions thoroughly.


STEP 4 (Applicant Information Input Screen)

  • Please verify the details of the selected tour and then enter applicant information (Name, Address, Telephone No., Information of the persons traveling, E-mail address, the preferred branch office for collecting the JR boarding tickets and Credit card information for payments).
  • There are 2 fields for entering the e-mail address, one for PC and another one for mobile phones respectively. Please enter the e-mail Address for the PC without fail.

    • To the e-mail address for PC: e-mail with the Terms & Condition documents, Reservation details confirmation e-mail
    • To the e-mail address for mobile phones: notification about the JR Boarding Ticket Receipt Number


STEP 5 (Screen for the Verification of the Application Details)

  • The details of the selected tour and the application information entered by you are displayed. Please re-confirm the details.
  • Click the "Display the Terms & Condition Document" which is in the lower part of the screen and after verifying the Terms & Condition Document, keep the document on record by either printing it or selecting e-mail delivery of the document.
  • Please confirm after thoroughly reading the three items to be confirmed. You will not be able to proceed to the next screen unless the confirmation check boxes for all the three items are checked.
  • If everything is in order, please apply by clicking "Submit application with these details" button.


STEP 6 (Contract Conclusion Screen)

  • With the display of this screen, the travel contract is concluded. Please print and keep this document on record.
  • Arrangement for your desired train and hotel as well as payments via credit card has been completed.
  • When this screen is displayed, simultaneously a "Reservation details confirmation e-mail" will be sent to the customer's e-mail address for PC. A "Notification of the JR Boarding Ticket Receipt No." will be sent to your mobile phone email address, which you can show to collect the JR boarding tickets.
    * If the "Reservation details confirmation e-mail" is not delivered, it could be due to an error in entering the e-mail address, system failure or rejection of the e-mail by the customer's security software. Please inquire immediately at the "The Shinkansen Tour-Direct Desk".
  • The "Reservation details confirmation e-mail" is not just your itinerary (schedule), but includes all the arrangement details or dos and don'ts during your travel. Please carry a print-out of this during your travel.
  • The schedule or the coupon tickets will not be sent. The schedule is mentioned in the "E-mail for confirming your reservation details". Please re-confirm that the details of the schedule match your reservation details.
    * You need to collect your JR boarding tickets. Please refer below for details.
